Brigantia Neeedlework is produced by Jacksons of Hebden Bridge Ltd a family company for four generations. We have been producing craft kits for over 60 years and so know how to make a top quality product. All design, canvas printing and kit assembly is in house using only the best materials.

We also specialise in producing tapestry kits for church kneelers which can be seen in churches and cathedrals all over the world.

Why our kits are so unique

Our printed canvas

All our kits are produced with Zweigart canvas, which is widely acknowledged to be the finest quality available and are hand printed in colour. Our 5 hole canvases are accurate to the stitch meaning that no guesswork is involved and the finished tapestry matches the design exactly. Uniquely this is also true for our seven hole canvases and is not available from any other manufacturer. Our 10 hole canvases are also hand printed so that they fit the canvas as accurately as possible. Many companies claim to have accurate printing from computers but this not possible. The only way to be sure is by hand, eye and experience.

Our pure wool yarns

A further unique feature of our products is our premium quality pure wool Tapestry and Tapisserie yarns. We do not, unlike many other companies, ask you to thread several strands into your needle for larger canvas.

Our yarns are designed to match the canvas they are intended for so you always just use one strand in your needle. They are spun in Yorkshire from the best fleece giving a smooth, glossy yarn with clear colours ideal for tapestry. The yarn is then dyed, treated with conditioners and gently dried in a flow of warm air to produce a full and soft finish.

Finally our yarns are stored in hanks so that they are not under tension which when stored on cones can make them thin giving poor coverage.

Colour charts

Whilst we make every effort to make colours clear in the printing we know that colours can vary in artificial light. For this reason we include a colour printed chart in our 10 hole per inch kits to help you in those situations. This feature is usually only found in the most expensive kits on the market but we want to give you the best quality at a reasonble price.

Presentation

Our kits are supplied in an attractive gloss carrier making them an excellent gift but also providing a place to keep your kit safe and tidy whilst stitching.

Guarantee

Finally there is our no quibble guarantee. If you change your mind or are unhappy with the kit in any way just tell us within 30 days of receiving it and we will arrange for a replacement or refund. If your cat eats some wool or you just go wrong we will always provide you with extra. Our aim is for you to enjoy your tapestry making experience so we are always here to help.
